What a nice grand theater, this type of architecture I hope to design after I go to college. A stunning restoration. Great job to the people who make this happen. I hope I cna visit it one day.

I suggest anyone to go, do not miss out. I wish it was in Detroit, very very unlikely.

well,
last year we took out the seats and put them into our Wayne Theatre in Wayne.

I think like ½ the seats are removed. Other then that I don’t know of anything else going.

Showcase Cinemas owned the building for a little after it closed, they amy still own it. When we removed the seats they owned it. I’d give them a call. It had a for sale sign on it, but I think driving by it alst week I didn’t see it.

mrpibbles,
There is a new multiplex that is currently being built, I believe it will have 20 screens. Canton 6 planned to keep people in by adding the extra screen, stadium seating, and redoing the iterior and exterior.

It has happened, and it is now the Canton 7.

To see if the Commodore was the location for the video, you should contact the director, etc.

yes,
I feel it should remain standing, to show how historic buildings need to remain in this work, and preservation is needed, and that you can compare just how grand the theater once was, like some kind of monument. The fisher was a disaster. Funny thing is, it was remodeled by Rapp & Rapp. My guess is there died before then, they would be turning in their graves!

I share the same views D.
Long live preservation and historic styles you jsut don’t find today.
Thats why I am going to college to become an architect, long live Art Deco!
