Funny Girl played there in roadshow but it was not in 70mm in most engagements. Dolly was in Todd-AO, if it played at the Severance (I can’t remember) it must have been in that format as a roadshow, so they must have had that capability.
Too bad this couldn’t have been saved somehow. C. Howard Crane was a noted theater architect. (Assuming there can’t be two of them). Wish there were pictures of the auditorium.
Oh, I didn’t know there were 2 Ohio theaters. Wasn’t there another theater destroyed in that tornado where the Palace sits now? I think it may have been called the State?
Nice to know this theater still exists. Years ago it used to show old classics. Wasnt there another Mayfield theater in Mayfield Heights? I think that was why this was called the OLD Mayfield.
Does anyone know when the Park ended as a theater? I dont remember seeing ads for it in the 60s papers, but I was a child back then, so could have missed it……
What’s going on with this theater? I drove by recently on the way home to visit my family and the marquee was gone and it appeared closed but had some sort of construction going on. Is it being remodeled? I was afraid it had closed and was being turned into something else. I used to go there a lot when I was home from college. Was the only theater for many miles around that booked foreign films…….
I cant believe they are going to carve up this beautiful theater after spending so much money to restore it. Have they started this desecration yet? Horrible!
So happy to see this theater put to use. It has been sitting there idle for many years. I’ve always wondered what it looked like inside. The theater was still open when I moved to town, but was showing porn then so I never did get inside. A shame the balcony is gone. A local theater company put on a production of Follies recently. I hope they make a go of it. Parking is a real problem in that area………
I have many fond memories of going to the Westgate in the 70s when I was home from college in the summer. I seem to remember more than 4 cinemas however. Werent more added as time went on? Sorry to hear it’s gone. The mall too! Awful.
Nothing going on here. Still derelict. Don’t see how a music venue would make it there. Is no parking and a run down neighborhood.

Surprised no one has mentioned this theater appeared as a location in the film, Far from Heaven. (interior and exterior).
The interior shown in Zodiac was NOT the Northpoint. It was a theater in LA. I’ve forgotten the name of it now.
Apparently this was right across the street from the Lincoln. Does anyone know what is there now? Was the whole block demolished?

The RKO Palace in Cleveland is also doing fine as a performing arts theater…….
How sad. That theater outlasted so many other theaters. Torn down for a McDonald’s. Progress.
