New movie theater to replace Saginaw’s Quad
SAGINAW, MI — Goodrich is planning on tearing down the Saginaw 12 for a new, state-of-the-art, 10-screen theater to open by Christmas. The new theatre will feature Dolby Atmos sound in one theater as well as another with D-Box motion seats.

Renovations loom for the TCL Chinese Theatre
HOLLYWOOD, CA — After reporting last month that the Chinese Theatre had sold its naming rights, there is further word that a stadium seating installation is imminent. There is still no confirmed date as to when renovations may begin.

PaleyFest to air in theaters nationwide
NCM Fathom Events has brought concerts and operas to theaters before and now their sharing the annual tv event, PaleyFest. The early March series features panel discussions with the stars and creators of the hottest shows on television.

Middletown Borough Council, group struggle for control of historic movie theater’s future
MIDDLETOWN, PA — The Middletown Borough Council is trying to take over the 101 year-old Elks Theatre from the development groups that owns and manages it, so they can upgrade the facility. While a recent classic film series is popular, they still need to raise funds for digital projection.

Tacoma 8-plex movie theater set to close
TACOMA, WA — Even upgrading to digital wasn’t enough for the Galaxy Narrows as the theatre closed this past week. There just wasn’t enough business to cover the hundreds of thousands of dollars they already spent.

Help save Forest City movie theater
FOREST CITY, IA — The Forest Theatre has sat dark for over a year but a local movement is working to reopen it. By creating a non-profit, they’ve centralized donations from residents and the city. They plan to install digital projection and provide other enhancements.

Pittsfield movie theater debuts on National Register
PITTSFIELD, IL — Vacant since 1987, the Zoe Theatre could be revitalized now that it’s on the National Register. The county has no theatre but locals hope they can raise enough money to restore it so it can proudly join the other 13 nationally-recognized properties/districts in the county.

Crete aims to save its only movie theater
CRETE, NE — The Isis Theatre is holding a “Night of the Stars” to raise money for digital projection. Ticket buyers will receive popcorn for life and possibly limo service for the event.
