One Million Years B.C. (1966) was the very first movie I saw at the Brookhurst and the first walk in Theatre I went to. Also saw all the Donn Knots movies and Patton in 70mm just to name a few.
I was there on opening day it was a 70mm with very large cerved screen and full six track stero sound. I was a beaitful theater with beitful gold curtens.
Oh! I missed this opportunity to watch and witness this theatre.

It’s always sad to see historic buildings being demolished, and the Brookhurst Theatre is no exception. As a lover of cinema, it’s particularly heartbreaking to see a venue with such a rich history reduced to rubble. The video of the demolition is difficult to watch, especially knowing the stories that must be behind the walls of the theater.
