Originally named the Redwood Family Theatre which opened on March 3, 1976. Later renamed Redwood Theatre which closed in 1982. Reopened as the Reel Time Theatre and operated by Reel Entertainment. This small 235 seat theatre fell under the Westates Theatres banner in January 2003 after Reel Theatres went into bankruptcy.
Westates Theatres devoted this theatre solely for exhibiting Art and Independent films. In February 2004 Westates Theatres installed new digital sound and updated the projection. This was done in the preparation of the opening of “The Passion Of The Christ”. The movie set records for this tiny little theatre. Originally any given movie would draw 25 patrons. “The Passion” set a single day record the the theatre selling out on the first Saturday all three shows taking in $5,000 at the box office. This quant little theatre had found a niche for itself. It was closed by 2016.

H.C. Heninger of the Cache Drive-In Theatre launched the Redwood Family Theatre after a $100,000 remodeling of the former Steed’s Dairy Bar building on March 3, 1976. Theatre Operators Inc. changed the name to the Redwood Theatre arranging screenings of R-rated features at discount prices for the nearby college crowd. It likely ceased operations in 1982. It later became the Reel Time and Logan Art House & Cinema.
