The Bonnie Theatre is located on S. Main Street at the corner of Hill Street. It was opened on October 6, 1934. It was owned by William Littlejohn. The Bonnie Theatre had a decent sized stage house and was used for vaudeville for performers as a stop between Salt Lake City and Grand Junction, CO.
The Bonnie Theatre continued showing movies until it was closed in 1955. When television came to Helper it caused the attendance to drop drastically giving the theatre no alternative but to close.
The old Bonnie Theatre was converted to a bowling named the Gateway Lanes and is still in operation.

address is 765 Main Street
I am sorry about that…..I stand corrected….but the Google map sure does need to be corrected. On the map it is showing 94 North Main Street, but the address states 94 South Main. That is a huge difference in location. 94 North Main is our Lumber Yard (Central Commission)not the old Bonnie
