Does anyone have a recent update on this theatre? I understand it has been closed for several years and that the building was for sale earlier this year. Quick searches don’t turn up much of a footprint.
Anybody can facebook message me or send me a email at . I think i have the only flier showing that there was a drive inn theater in dos palos.
(Kencmcintyre):The Howard’s (my) family ran the drive inn theater at one time. I am glade that dp walk inn theater is still running. I would like to move back to dos palos sometimes.?? Anybody that as lived in dos palos all there lives would know the Howard name. Nice too meet all u people.
If you look at the marquee in the Street View, there are reddish blank spaces above the reader boards. As late as the mid 1990s, there were metal channel letters reading DOS PALOS, with magenta neon in them. At that time, they mostly worked. A few letters were out.
I guess the old management was unfriendly:

There was also a drive-in in Dos Palos in 1963, named (not too surprisingly) the Dos Palos Drive-In. Capacity was 350 cars.
After being closed for over 20 years
the DOS PALOS THEATRE was twinned & reopened back in the early 90’s.
I saw JURASSIC PARK in DIGITAL SOUND there and it was packed.
When the new plexes opened 20 miles away in Los Banos CA
Dos Palos' business was injured.
Was just there today, it’s still Alive & Kickin'!
Based on the preceding post, the status should be Open, unless it has closed since last January.
Great News!! I took a trip out to see this theatre, and the marquee lists “Fockers” and “Elektra” Now Showing! I was so shocked, that i almost crashed into it. I plan to catch films here regularly, and would encourage others in the central San Joaquin valley to do the same….gotta support it,or lose it.
The Film Daily Yearbook 1941 gives a seating capacity the Dos Palos Theatre as 450. In the F.D.Ybook 1952 it has a seating capacity of 490.
