The Court Theatre was opened on March 5, 1938 with Eddie Cantor in “Ali Baba Goes to Town” & Gene Autry in “Boots and Saddles”. I went there to see “Battlestar Galactica” when I lived a few blocks away in the late-1970’s. Glad to see it’s still in business, apparently independently-owned and operated. It was closed for renovations in 2015 and reopened May 4, 2018 with Daniel Roebuck in “Getting Grace”.

I love this theater. I currently live about eight blocks away and was thrilled when they reopened over a year ago. It had been closed since about late-1994/early-1995. I love having this theater down the street because it provides a spot for people to go on that saturday night when there’s nothing going on. It also helps to bring businesses back to that part of town because it is a thriving theater and has generated a lot of momentum.
