The Natick Theatre opened on May 25, 1913 on Washington Street in downtown Natick. Architects were Funk & Wilson. Suburban Amusement Co. and Fred Harris built and operated the Natick Theatre until 1929 when the Netoco Colonial, built by Fred Harris, opened on East Central St. Because it lacked sound equipment, the Natick Theatre was obsolete. It closed the week before the Colonial opened, late November 1929. There was a staff party, and I’m sure some went to work at the Colonial.
Eventually, the building became the Bowlerama, then a Kemps Bowladrome and later, batting cages. It is now an Italian Restaurant called Aghostinos.
Sadly, there are no photos in existence, of this theatre. Any further information would be appreciated.

The Natick Theatre is listed in the 1927 Film Daily Yearbook as having 800 seats and open 6 days per week. It’s the only movie theater listed for Natick MA.
