The Azle Avenue Theater was opened December 20, 1941 with James Stewart in “Pot of Gold”. It was later renamed Azle Theater and was still open in 1952, but had closed by 1955. It is now a reception center. The building is really shabby looking from the outside. There are patches all over the front of the building. The flat marquee is still on the front of the building but has panels missing and some sections boarded up. The corner vertical is the only thing that looks to be in good shape. It has a black background with red neon spelling out “Azle”.

It’s amazing when you realize how many local movie theaters have closed down over the years. Rather sad!
