The ‘Rave Xtreme’ screen has been rebranded to ‘Cinemark XD’. The theatre is now called “Polaris 18 and XD”.
Now owned by Cinemark.
The address, according to the Rave website, for this theatre is 1071 Gemini Place Columbus, OH 43240. It is located adjacent to the Polaris Mall, not inside as the current address suggests.
amc is buying the grove city 14 not polaris.
This location is going to be AMC.

They will be opening their retrofitted “RaveXtreme” auditorium on 3/23/12 for The Hunger Games. It will compete for the large format audience that have been going to the AMC IMAX and Marcus UltraScreen locations in Columbus.
I don’t know of any major release they have not played.
Doesn’t that seriously limit what movies can be shown?
According to a source at RAVE, they have pulled all 35mm equipment from all of their theatres.
So film can no longer be shown here at all?
All digital projection as of late summer, 2007. One screen equipped for 3-D digital projection.
This theatre is located in southern Delaware County, one of the fastest growing areas of the country. It is also the only theatre close to the giant Polaris Mall and shopping area.
With only the Crosswoods 17 to the south as competition, this theatre will draw from a very good area. I expect it to be successful.
This theatre opened yesterday.
However, I don’t see what it adds to the local movie scene. The first week’s bookings look the same as many other Columbus-area cinemas.
Thanks for the link. The last article I posted was from 2002, so its information that a theater complex was no longer planned has been superceded by the 2004 announcement you have. I don’t think anyone ever said it had anything to do with Rave, but having an operators name is certainly helpful.
If you’re referring to the South Campus Gateway, it will have an 8-screen cinema at 9th and High, but it will be run by Columbus’s local Drexel Theatre Group:

Nice attitude there. You know very well that this site isn’t about publicity. There are theaters of all shapes and sizes on this site. Don’t forget that these ‘crapholes’ are still very closely related to the first nickelodeons. And they’re important too because this is where most people choose to be entertained now, and they show us what we’ve lost. So before you go around being our censor, try getting off your high horse.
Wow, you’re just chock full of these crapholes, aren’t you RMI? So, who do you work for? You gave us all the beautiful Dan Barry multiplexes, are we now to be treated to a ‘Rave Revue’? Do everyone a favor and flack these at a Wal-Mart fansite or somewhere else where your cultural level belongs.
Rave Motion Pictures is a company based out of Dallas, TX. It has theaters located in FLA, AL, IN, OH, TX, AR. The company is operated by Mr. Stevenson, who was President of Hollywood Theaters. All of the circut is for sale and Rave is in the business for investment only.
The theaters have a horriable sight line, with their oversized screens. This gives the theater patron a stiff neck and headache after sitting in your seat for two hours.
