The theater was built in 1905. The front was always offices. The auditorium has been demolished, and this has suffered a nasty dryvit remodel.

Fido42, I also saw the Planet of the Apes marathon! Many high school students went and passed around LSD and marijuana…

The Ozark was part of the Malco Theaters lineup in this March 1971 ad in the Northwest Arkansas Times:

I watched many movies in the Ozark Theater as a young boy in the early ‘70s. I remember a lot of Disney films, a Planet of the Apes marathon called “Go Ape!” and stuff like The Poseiden Adventure. I had no idea that it had been around as long as it had.
Does anyone have any info on where to find more history and photos of it?

A sad view of the Ozark Theater from 1987 in Fayetteville.

The Ozark was showing “How Sweet It Is!” with James Garner and Debbie Reynolds on 10/4/68. Other local theaters were the Uark, Palace and the 71 Drive-In.
