- Sep 30, 2014 — Roselle Park friends team up to revitalize theatre
The Park Theatre was opened in 1927. By 1950 it was operated by the Aldon Theater Corp. chain. It was closed in 1986. It reopened as the 5-screen New Park Cinemas on June 7, 1991. It closed in February 2010.
Under new ownership it was planned to reopen as the Artistica Cinema in 2022, screening classic, independent & revival movies as well as film festivals. That never happened and in March 2023 the building was ‘For Sale’ or ‘To Rent’.

i wish i could buy this theater i been going there since i was a kid. It’s since for rent they really want someone to fix looks clean inside from the pics. i hope someone reopens it been since there closed since 2010
Saw quite a few movies here in the early 90’s. I specifically remember seeing CANDYMAN and EVENT HORIZON. It was a nice theater.

The venue will re-open as a movie theater. The Artistica International Film Festival will take place at the theater. A friend of mine just told me about this. Are you going to reopen as a 5 screen or you going to restore it to one huge theatre?
I wonder how things are going here. Someone asked me the other day if I knew when it was going to open.
A friend drove by yesterday and a for sale or rent sign is on the marquee. Guess they just couldnt make a go of it.
