Davidcoppock, the site is now part of the West Hyattsville Metro station.
I think the site is now car yard(Joel’s Auto Sales INC), a laundromat(American Mega Laundromat) and a church(MT of Salvation).
Was there a chapel called Queen Chapel?
I remember going to the drive-in as a little girl. I remember seeing “The Flying Horse, Mutiny on the Bounty and Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds”. We had a station wagon back then so we could lay out in the back while watching the screen. I remember the playground in the front. We could play there until about 7:00pm before the movie began. There was a sound box at every parking spot so you could hear the movie. I could not when the drive-in was no longer there. I can also remember the intermission with the clock ticking on the screen to give you just enough time to use the bathroom or purchase items at the concession stand. That was a great family adventure. I sure wish we could bring the drive-in back to this area. I think of it often when I pass by the shopping center located there now. I really miss it because great memories were made there.
The Queens Chapel Drive-In opened on July 29, 1955 with “Strategic Air Command” (1955) and “The Last Outpost” (1951).

Approx. address for this drive-in was 5600 Ager Road.
I thought it was much newer but i am 95% sure i saw “WILLARD” and “WHO SLEW AUNTIE RUE” there in the early 70’s. Thanks Jack for getting me here. Sure thought it was built later than 1955.
This drive-in was pedestrian friendly, with benches near the concession stand. When I was a kid, I used to take the bus here to catch films like The Silencers & Sons Of Katie Elder.
My family lived in the Hyattsville area from about 1963 to 1965, when I was a small child, and I remember that the Queens Chapel Drive-In had one of the most EXCELLENT playgrounds down in front of the screen. I remember seeing “Goldfinger” there!
