The theatre showed porno movies from 1969-1978. This theatre and nearby Place Victoria showed “Star Wars” starting June 24,1977. Gutted in 2001.

The cinema closed during the summer 1967 due to construction noise. It never did that well except during the opening of Star Wars.
Peter Lawford imprinted his hands and name in the cement of this cinema in 1965. View link
I never have seen it.
After it was split in two, showed porno films. I found the ads in old Montreal Star microfilm. After “Star Wars” it kept playing first run films.
The adult cinema policy started in 1970 until it was split in 1976. It closed in 1992 when the new passageway to the Bonaventure Metro at 1000 Rue de la Gauchetière opened up routed the foot traffic away from Place Bonaventure. Place Bonaventure is now a very busy office complex
