Located in the north end of the Dakota Square Mall this seven screen cinema was opened by Carisch Theatres in January 1982. On May 13, 1988 it was taken over by Essaness Theatres Corp. and ended its days operated by Carmike Cinemas. It had 1,050-seats. A nicely appointed entrance and lobby in an Indian motif. Small lobby and small auditoriums but typical for a mall theatre. A lot of neon sets off the entrance and the lobby. The Indian style motif is carried throughout the theatre.

This originally started life as the Cinema 5 operated by Carisch Theatres, according to a January 1982 article by the Dickinson Press. Its opening date remains unconfirmed. Like other Carisch Theatres, it was taken over by Essaness Theaters on May 13, 1988, who renamed the chain Excellence Theaters in December of that same year.
