This small, early movie theater was opened in by Louis Kaplan. It was located on S. State Street near W. 35th Street. The Washington Theater was closed in 1915. It was demolished in the 1940’s or 1950’s to make way for the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology.

In 1919 the Fiume Café (later Club) opened in the former Washington Theater. It was still in operation at least into the late 20s.
