This small-town theater was opened as the Carlile Theatre on September 1, 1950 with Joel McCrea in “Saddle Tramp”. It was closed on August 1, 1999 with the Disney animated feature “Tarzan”. It was ‘For Sale’ as of 12/03, when I saw it. It’s more of a post-Moderne style; call it 1950’s boxy. The facade is yellow brick with orange brick accents. The vertical marquee is simple, but attractive. It seemed to be in very good shape.

Blade signage is deco and building has a lot of moderne touches. Beautiful brick work. Great building with lots of soul.
