Bosphore

Located in the north of the city centre. The Kinerama-Pathe was opened on 30th Septewmber 1911. Despite its name it had no connection to the Pathe company and that part of the name was soon dropped. This was a small seating capacity theatre constructed in former shops during the silent movie area on the Grand Boulevard, it had an impressive façade. The entrance to the auditorium was under the screen.

After the end of World War II it was renamed Bosphore and specialized in action and Western films. It later became a well know haunt of gay men who would patrol the toilets. The Bosphore closed on 22nd October 1980.

It reopened as the Show Girl Video Paris II Erotic Theatre, presenting a mix of live performances and video. It became a retail unit, and the marquee and entrance is all that survives.
