This early Washington movie theater opened in 1914 and was designed by architect B. Frank Meyers, who designed a number of the city’s early theaters. It was located on Capitol Street, near O Street.

The Liberty didn’t survive very long into the sound era of films, closing in 1931. It has long since been demolished.
