EbonyLife Place London

Situated in the south London district of Stockwell, close to Battersea Power Station, EbonyLife Place London, a dedicated venue for African and Black cinema, opened on 8TH October 2026.

It was founded by Nigerian producer and media entrepreneur Mo Abudu, and financed by her company EbonyLife Media. The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, attended the opening ceremony. The cinema will showcase ‘Nollywood’ alongside African and Black cinema and storytelling from the UK, Caribbean, US and more, with plans to also host industry panel discussions, masterclasses and live performances.

The venue, which also includes a bar, restaurant and retail spaces, is housed within the former LOST Theatre, which opened in 2010. In 2017 this was renamed the Stockwell Playhouse, but it closed in 2019.
