Little Hagerman, New Mexico, had several theatres over the years. Or maybe it had one that changed its name a lot.

In 1918, Moving Picture World included the Pastime of Hagerman as one of the many theatres that showed “Pershing’s Crusaders.” S. B. Brock, of the Electric Theatre in Hagerman, frequently provided film reviews to Exhibitors Herald in 1920-21.

The 1938 Film Daily Year Book (FDYB) did not list any theatres in Hagerman. The 1943 FDYB included the Crystal Theatre in Hagerman. In August 1947, Motion Picture Herald reported that Steve Mason was opening the “new” Felix Theatre there after installing Motiograph sound and equipment. The 1950 FDYB included the 130-seat Universal in Hagerman.

Walter Watson owned the Universal Theatre in 1948 when it burned, destroying “the machines and all booth equipment” and leaving him looking for a temporary showhouse building until he could build a new one. In 1951, Orin J. Sears bought the Universal from Watson and planned to reopen it as the Pecos Theatre. In April 1957, Gordon Speis reopened the Phoenix Theatre.

Any information connecting some of these theater names would be welcome.
