Located in the Bom Retiro district in the north of the city centre. The Cine Lux was opened on March 20, 1935 with Joe E. Brown in “6 Day Bike Rider”. It was designed in a flamboyant Art Deco style by architect Joao B.Villanova Artigas. It was closed between 1956-1958 and has been demolished.
A shopping centre named Shopping Bom Retiro now stands on the site.
