Georgetown Cinemas 3

The Georgetown Cinemas 3 opened its doors on March 2, 1979 by Curly Posen, who also operated several smaller independent theaters across Ontario. It was also the first movie theater to operate in Halton Hills since the burning of the town’s Roxy Theatre in 1955.

Odeon Theatres Canada took over the Georgetown during the early-1980’s, and later Cineplex Odeon in July 1984 when Cineplex and Odeon Theatres Canada merged. Independent ownership retook the theater during the 1990’s and lasted until closing for the final time on May 15, 2008.
