Chalk River restaurant owner Romeo Lavergne and George Gordon Lumber Company employee Emile Arcand, both Cache Bay natives, opened the Sturgeon Falls Drive-In on July 8, 1955 featuring a 38x70ft CinemaScope screen. The theater originally housed 350 cars when it first opened.
It was still open in the late-1980s, but its closing date remains unconfirmed. Nowadays, part of Sabourin Road has been renamed Drive-In Road in dedication to the old drive-in.
