The Rivoli Theatre operated as early as the 1920’s and was destroyed in an early morning fire that started at the nearby Owl Drug Store on October 18, 1945 alongside several other neighboring businesses. The Rivoli Theatre was immediately rebuilt, reopened the following year in 1946, and continued operating into the 1950’s. Its closing date remains unconfirmed.
The Rivoli Theatre was also once the only movie theater in town until Odeon Theatres, its operator at the time, launched the nearby Odeon Theatre during the early-1950’s, which later became the Deono Theatre in the 1970’s (it has its own Cinema Treasures page).
