The 600-seat Sandy Theatre opened its doors on July 25, 1946 with Betty Hutton in “The Stork Club” along with an unnamed Popeye cartoon and Paramount News.

It was closed on February 9, 1958 with Alan Ladd in “Boy On A Dolphin” and Alan Freed in “Mr. Rock & Roll” (unknown if extras added).

Not to be confused with a later Sandy Theatre (formerly the Sunset Theatre and later Sandy Cinema), which began using the exact name in 1978.
