Opened as the Dallas Opera House. It was renamed Majestic Theatre (the second in the city to operate with that name) in early-1918 following a fire in December 1917 which had destroyed Majestic Theatre #1.
When the current Majestic Theatre #3 opened in 1921, the Majestic Theatre #2 was renamed Capitol Theatre, but it was destroyed by fire later in 1921.
(A new Capitol Theatre #2 was built and opened on December 19, 1922 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
