Moody Gardens Theatres

The Moody Gardens IMAX 3D Theater officially opened in March 27,1993. Located in Galveston, Texas, it originally opened as North America’s first IMAX 3D theater and has since been upgraded with state-of-the-art laser projection technology.

In 2014, the MG 3D Theater introduced the world’s first Giant Screen 6-Primary Laser Projector System. The upgrade delivers images nearly three and a half times brighter than traditional theaters, with vivid color and advanced 3D glasses technology. Combined with an exceptional surround sound system, the MG 3D Theater continues to stand out as one of the premier large-format cinema experiences in the world.
