Located in Boulogne-Billancourt at the corner of Queens Road and Rue de Bellevue. The Kursaal was one of the first cinemas to open in the town, opening in 1911 with a 10-piece orchestra to accompany the silent films until the introduction of sound films. It was purchased by Pathe in 1935 and underwent renovation to the plans of architect Eugene Bruynell.
It was renamed Royal in the late-1950s and underwentv furth renovations in 1961. It was taken over by UGC (Universal Generale Cinematographique) in 1971. It was closed in 1985 and the vacant building was eventually demolished in August 2011 to construct .
