Theater

This small theater appears on the 1921 Sanborn. It was located in a two story brick building which does not appear on the 1913 map. It’s possible it was built as a theater. Chase City does not appear in the 1914-15 AMPD.

The theater was very small, but there was a tiny balcony. No later maps are available online, but this likely closed by 1926, when a 600 seat theater is listed in the Yearbook.

The building today is in decent shape, with a very ugly mansard awning. It is used as the office of a community organization.
