An earlier Havre Theatre was destroyed by fire on January 15, 1942 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The New Havre Theatre was built on the site and opened in March 1948. It was closed on November 1, 1990 with Jim Belushi in “Taking Care of Business”

In recent years the Hill County Tile Company has occupied the building as office space.

Opened on March 28, 1948 with Charles Bickford in “The Farmer’s Daughter” along with Disney’s Donald Duck in “Chip ‘N Dale” (also starring the two chipmunks themselves), and a short on Frankie Carle and his Orchestra.

Closed on November 1, 1990 with “Taking Care Of Business” (definitely one appropriate title to close a movie theater).
