Correction: This first opened as a twin under the name “Cinema du Centre 1 & 2” in 1971 as a replacement of the Capitol Theatre. The theater housed 430 seats when it first opened, with 250 seats in Screen 1 and 180 seats in Screen 2. It remained as a twin throughout the 1980s, and at the time, it was independently operated by Linda Durette.
