Pearl Theatre

This theater was operating by 1914-15, when it is listed in the AMPD. It was located in a deep but narrow two story brick building constructed sometime after 1909, replacing two tiny wooden offices. The city says the building was constructed in 1914, but the 1911 city directory apparently lists a power company at this address, so it’s possible it was not built as a theater.

This theater may later have been known as the Strand Theatre, which appears in the 1926 Yearbook with 250 seats. In any case, it closed many years ago, and after retail and office use, it is now part of a church.
