In mid-August 1952, Boxoffice magazine reported that Jack Pearl was going to open the Prosser Drive-In later that month. Its concession stand was 30x40 feet, with the projection room on the second floor.
The 1955-56 Theatre Catalog included the Prosser Drive-In, owners Jack Pearl and Robert S. Clark, Saffle Th. Serv., capacity 300 cars.
Bud Christensen leased the Prosser Drive-In in December 1969 (along with the indoor Princess Theatre) and began showing X-rated movies in July 1970, per a story in the Tri-City Herald. Jim Bonholzer bought the theaters from Pearl that year.
The Prosser Drive-In advertised in the Sunnyside Sun newspaper through at least September 1976.
A 1955 aerial photo showed a drive-in across the Yakima River from downtown Prosser on the southeast corner of Wamba Road and the Old Inland Empire Highway. It was still intact in 1963 but had fallen into disrepair by 1982. The site remains a vacant lot today with faint hints of the viewing field ramps.
