Airdome

This outdoor theater appears on the 1911 Sanborn. This location was a vacant lot on the 1905 map.

This was a typical airdome, with no notable features. If it survived into 1914-15, it may have been called the Star, Orpheum, or Crystal. The Orpheum Theater and Crystal Theater were definitely somewhere on Main Street.

This would have been demolished by 1920 at the latest, as the present Kingman Theater opened here that year. It is noteworthy that Mr. Meade, who constructed the Kingman Theatre, intended it to replace an opera house that had burned sometime between 1905 and 1911. It’s possible the airdome was an initial effort before funding for a permanent structure was secured.

I can now say for sure that this was not the Orpheum.
