Pastime Theatre

This first Pastime Theatre was located in the southern half of an old two story brick building which was an Odd Fellows lodge, and dated to sometime before 1893. The southern portion was a longtime millinery, but the theater was in place by the September 1911 Sanborn.

This theater seems to have survived until 1930, making the transition to sound with Royaltone. It was replaced in 1931 by a newer theater of the same name a few doors to the south.

The building was apparently demolished, or possibly destroyed by fire, right around 1930.

The storefront that occupies the portion of the lot where the theater is clearly quite old.

I’ve added a map view. Note that the telephone exchange is still there, and the hardware store was either remodeled or replaced by the current structure, which housed the new Pastime on the south side.
