The Benitez Theatre Circuit was one of the two leading Golden Age movie theatre exhibitors in the Rio Grande Valley. They specialized in Spanish language films and opened the Rex Theatre in tiny Santa Ana. The Rex Theatre burned down in 1948 and was replaced by the 200-seat Teatro Mexico, which was also operated by the Benites Theatre Circuit.
