The Boonsboro Theatre opened its doors as a 1,000-seat single-screener on December 22, 1965 featuring 35mm and 70mm projection with 6-channel stereophonic sound, launching with Virginia’s premiere of Sean Connery in “Thunderball”.
Later operated by JF Theatres, a second auditorium was added in December 1974, and remained as a twin until closing for the final time by Stewart & Everett on April 10, 1986 with “Out of Africa” in Screen 1 and “Kiss of the Spider Woman” in Screen 2.
