Theater

This early theater was located in the southern half of John’s Block, a two story brick commercial building constructed sometime just prior to 1888. While the 1905 map shows a ‘General Furnishing’ store there, the theater was operating by early 1912.

This theater seems to have closed prior to 1914-15, as it is not listed in the AMPD. The building still existed around 1970, but was destroyed to be replaced by a giant ugly shed used as a hardware store.
