The Aeon Cinema Otaru opened its doors on March 11, 1999 featuring seven screens and 1,517 seats and 15 wheelchairs (with three in Screen 7, and two each in the remaining auditoriums). It was also one of six Aeon-operated theaters to have THX certified sound, with the others being the Aeon Cinemas Omiya, Ebina, Omihachiman, Ibaraki, and Tobata.

Screen 7 is the largest with 480 seats, three wheelchairs, THX sound, and 3D compatible installations. The rest of the auditoriums have ranging capacities of 111-233, with Screens 4 and 6 having 3D support installations.
