Cinema City IMAX Arena

Arena Mall (formerly known as Aréna Plaza) is the largest shopping centre in Budapest. It opened on 15th November 2007 on the site of an old horse racing track.

The Cinema City IMAX Arena opened on 17th January 2008. Initially it was equipped with Kinoton 35mm projectors, while the IMAX showed 70mm prints. But first generation Christie and Kinoton digital projectors were introduced as early as 2009, and full-scale digitisation took place in 2011, when Barco projectors were installed. The IMAX followed in 2012.

ScreenX opened on 7th September 2018.

Seating capacities are: Screens 1 to 5 are VIP Screens (three with 32 seats and two with 40 seats), 6:128, 7:231, 8:182, 9:203, 10:138, 11:114, 12:226, 13:105, 14:361, 15:378, 16:324, 17:96, 18:230, 19:91, 20:83, 21:129, 22(ScreenX):223 + IMAX:398. The IMAX screen (the only one in the country) measures 18m by 24m.
