Elite Theatre

This theatre was open by 1918. The map for that year shows it operating in a narrow one-story brick storefront, which was apparently the remains of a two-story furniture store which appears on the 1913 map.

The original theatre was shallower, and some of the ruins of the previous structure are shown behind it on the 1918 view. By 1926, it had been extended all the way to the alley.

This theatre was replaced around 1930 by the New Baxter Theatre, which involved the demolition of this building, and a one-story drugstore to the north.
