The Niigata Bandai Toho I & II was a twin-screener that replaced another twin-screen Toho theater called the Niigata Takarazuka Kaikan, which had two screens under the names Niigata Toho Theater and La Scalaza that operated from 1970 until its closure on November 29, 1992 due to the deterioration of the building and changes in the flow of moviegoers.
The Niigata Bandai Toho I & II opened its doors on December 12, 1992 with a total capacity of 284 seats, with 155 seats in Screen 1 and 129 seats in Screen 2. Unlike most movie theaters in Japan, there was no projection room for screening prints. Instead, both first-run Japanese and foreign films from Toho were screened in the video theater.
The then-upcoming launch of the nearby T-Joy Niigata Bandai forced the closure of the Toho twin-screener on April 8, 2001.
