There’s not a lot of information about this theatre, and some information about this theatre may be a little incorrect.
The Edgefield Theatre opened as early as 1919, and at the same time, Edgefield had another showplace called the Edgefield Opera House which at the time had been operating since the Spring of 1892.
The Edgefield Theatre was then renamed the Strand Theatre around the Great Depression era and was remodeled in October 1934 while under the management of Sam Hammond, who also operated the bigger theaters under the Paramount-Publix chain in much of the southeast including Augusta, Charlotte, Columbia, Greenville (alongside neighboring Anderson), and Norfolk.
Its closing date remains unknown
