The Lodi Historical Society notes the Lyric Theatre was opened May 13, 1911, by B.F. Best of San Francisco. The lyric Theatre was listed in American Motion Picture Directory 1914-1915 and was on Sanborn Maps 1916.
This new Lyric Theatre was a replacement for a previous Lyric Theatre on the north side of Pine Street near School Street. According to an old photograph in the historical society’s
‘Nickelodeon Theaters in Lodi’, the older Lyric Theatre in the photograph was in a building presently at 23 West Pine Street.
