Olympia Cinema

Located in the Ammochostos district of Famagusta, a town on the north-east coast of the island, which is run by the Turkish authorities and forbidden to enter from the Greek section of the island. The Olympia Cinema, which possibly dates from the 1960’s, was opened prior to 1973. In 1974 hostilities between the Turkish and Greek authorities on the island began, and the Olympia Cinema was closed. United Nations troops keep the peace on the island today and it is not known if the cinema is in use in 2025.
