In Helensburgh, Argyll & Bute, the Tower Picture House was opened, on 7th September 1927, by John Maxwell Brown. Designed for “Pictures and Variety”, the stage measured 14ft deep by 40ft wide and there were two dressing rooms.

In March 1935 it was acquired by Scottish Cinema and Variety Theatres (ABC).

The (by then renamed) Tower Cinema closed on 16th January 1968 following storm damage. The building was never repaired, and was demolished in 1973.
