The Opera House was a large wooden building constructed sometime before 1894. Rather rustic, the front was used as an implement dealership and hay storage. By about 1900, it had been clad in sheet metal, and by 1907, a more formal entrance had been created, flanked by a ticket office and a small store.
By no later than 1914-15, movies were being shown here, but this venue closed when the New Opera House (later the Palace Theatre) was constructed. The 1921 map shows the building used as the post office, but it was demolished later that decade, and replaced by the current structure, a bowling alley (but which might have begun as a garage/dealership).
