The Big Nickle Theatre (not to be confused with the Nickle Theater) operated from March 11 1912 to January 14, 1913. It re-opened as the Bijou Theatre (not to be confused with the other Bijou Theatre) from February 23, 1914 to May 16 1914. It then closed and reopened as the Big Nickle Theatre once again from August 23, 1914 to July 21, 1916. A small brick building can be seen on that lot on the 1911 atlas. Judging by the size of the currently vacant lot (40'x80') it was not a large theatre.

Is there any evidence that it wasn’t actually spelled NICKEL?
